As a New Year Arrives

In all honesty, who begins a new year's resolution before new year's day? I'm not sure but as the new year arrives I have decided to take the plunge. I have always wanted to start a blog and made it a resolution to do so but was afraid of the commitment.  I might as well change my Facebook relationship status to "in a relationship with my blog" due to the time, commitment and honesty you have to put into it. However, being a mature, wise college graduate ;) I think it is the time in my life to begin. And what have I always wanted to do my whole life? Travel and teach English and Spanish. Hello dream come true! I have found it through the Sparks Foundation and an incredible opportunity to live in Santiago Atitlán, Guatemala and help at the school and with other projects. What better inspiration is there to begin a blog than to write about my experiences?! I leave in exactly ONE WEEK! How amazing is that?! This new adventure is all I think about and I can't wait to share it with you all. I have a feeling that 2012 will be exactly the opposite of the assumed, morbid "end of the world".  To me, it marks the beginning of a brand new chapter of my life, one full of opportunities, unexplored continents, freedom and a whole lot of self-discovery. 2012, I am so excited for you to arrive!
